Football Recap: Hailey Yin Leads Patrick Henry's Defense on Thursday

After only 12 points in their last contest, Patrick Henry made sure to put some points up on the board against Chula Vista on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 31-7 win. Considering the Patriots' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Whitley Swain was a one-woman wrecking crew as she threw for 215 yards and four TDs while completing 73.9% of her passes. What's more, she racked up 142.2 passer rating, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Patrick Henry's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 13 sacks. Hailey Yin led the group effort, picking up six of those sacks all by herself. Addison Bauch has become a key player for Patrick Henry: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least two sacks, but 2-4 otherwise.

Patrick Henry's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Chula Vista, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Patrick Henry will venture away from home to challenge Cathedral Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
