Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Weequahic

Weequahic had won two straight games and James Porter did his part to make it three on Friday. The Weequahic Indians took down the West Side Roughriders 54-39 thanks in part to Porter, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points along with five boards and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Riyahd McDonald, who posted six points and 17 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January.

Weequahic's record now sits at 4-1. As for West Side, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Weequahic and Arts will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for West Side, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Side at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
