Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tri-Village Patriots.

Springfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Jones has launched this season.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Tri-Village, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-0.

Coming up, Springfield will head out on the road to face off against Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Village does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
