Softball Game Preview: Cuthbertson Cavaliers vs. Porter Ridge Pirates

The Cuthbertson Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the Porter Ridge Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cuthbertson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Porter Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Cuthbertson made easy work of Fort Mill and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Porter Ridge came up short against Weddington on Tuesday, falling 13-2. The Pirates have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Cuthbertson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Porter Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Cuthbertson was able to grind out a solid win over Porter Ridge in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
