Basketball Recap: Northland Pines Comes Up Short

Northland Pines lost against Crandon back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Northland Pines Eagles were dealt a 64-29 defeat at the hands of the Crandon Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Cardinals are ranked 105th).

Northland Pines' loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Crandon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Northland Pines has already played their next game (against Rhinelander), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Crandon will square off against Elcho at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Crandon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Elcho likes a good challenge.
