Baseball Game Preview: Forbush Falcons vs. East Rutherford Cavaliers

The Forbush Falcons will challenge the East Rutherford Cavaliers on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Forbush sitting on seven straight wins and East Rutherford on 24.

Forbush is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Community School of Davidson 4-3.

Forbush got a great performance from Luke Hutchens as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Hutchens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bo Moxley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Noah Haughwout was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, East Rutherford won against Southwestern Randolph on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Cavaliers beat West Lincoln by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Forbush pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Rutherford, their victory bumped their record up to 24-0.
