Softball Recap: Henley Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Henley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Stayton Eagles 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since April 5th.

Henley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Stayton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Henley will challenge Astoria on Friday. The Fishermen's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Stayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
