Baseball Game Preview: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes

For the second straight game, Timothy Christian will face off against Marian Central Catholic. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Timothy Christian turned things around against Marian Central Catholic on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Hurricanes.

Johnny Tragos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Eli Colegrove was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Montella, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Timothy Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Marian Central Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Timothy Christian, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal.
