Baseball Preview: Skyline Tigers vs. Marionville Comets
The Skyline Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Marionville Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
On Wednesday, Skyline didn't have quite enough to beat Central and fell 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Skyline saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Moppin, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Marionville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Ash Grove by a score of 7-4.
Garrisen Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Marionville is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. Smith was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
