Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs vs. Dover Longhorns

The Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs will square off against the Dover Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale turned things around against Ringwood on Friday. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 41-33.

Meanwhile, Dover had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 76-11 win over the Lions. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Lions are ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dover pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.0 points per game. As for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, their win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17.

Pioneer-Pleasant Vale was taken down by Dover 61-19 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Pioneer-Pleasant Vale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
