Basketball Recap: Life Christian Academy Gets the Win

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Life Christian Academy Lions beat the Brevard Christian War Eagles 51-47 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

When it comes to explaining why Brevard Christian lost, don't look at Samuel Mitchell. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Mitchell's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Mitchell, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Life Christian Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Brevard Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Life Christian Academy will challenge Pathways at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Brevard Christian, they will take on Southland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The War Eagles will need to watch out since the FLAMES have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
