Omaha Northwest had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it 14. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburn Bulldogs. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Omaha Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeramiah Ryley, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Auburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.
On Auburn's side, Jackson Warner was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Warner was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Griffin Sikora, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
