Basketball Recap: Hanford Bullpups vs. Sierra Pacific Golden Bears
The Hanford Bullpups had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 58-54 W over Sierra Pacific on Saturday. For Hanford, this counts as revenge for the 54-44 loss the Golden Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Several Golden Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nevin Pitkin, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Fabian Garcia was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Hanford's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Sierra Pacific, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanford will take on the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Oak is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sierra Pacific, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingsburg will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
