Bourgade Catholic had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 10-9 to make it six. They fell just short of the Winslow Bulldogs by a score of 12-11. Even if the Golden Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Alexander Guzak led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Bourgade Catholic is 3-1 when Guzak posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Jeremiah Steuter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
As for Winslow, their record is now 3-16. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.
On Winslow's side, Aiden Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Martinez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Mendoza, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ehren Leonard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Bourgade Catholic will square off against Gilbert Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Winslow, they will take on Show Low at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
