Beekmantown hasn't had much luck against Peru recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. Beekmantown will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Beekmantown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Plattsburgh. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Steven Bronson was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Beekmantown: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Beekmantown let Cal Anderson and Parker Broughton run wild. Anderson went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Broughton got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three RBI gave Anderson a new career-high. Logan Estes was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Beekmantown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plattsburgh only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Peru was able to grind out a solid victory over Saranac Lake two weeks ago, taking the game 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Nighthawks.
The team relied heavily on Donnie Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabe Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Beekmantown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Peru, their record is now 14-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Beekmantown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Beekmantown might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Peru in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
