Baseball Game Preview: Canterbury Cougars vs. Northside Christian Mustangs

For the second straight game, Canterbury will face off against Northside Christian. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.

Canterbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Northside Christian 12-1. Considering the Cougars have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Anthony Meady made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Noah Keifer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Anthony Tenuto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Canterbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Canterbury pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northside Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9.
