Preview: Bethel Christian Kings vs. Crossroads Christian Warriors
Bethel Christian is 10-0 against Crossroads Christian since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Bethel Christian Kings will take on the Crossroads Christian Warriors at 2:45 p.m. Hopefully Bethel Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Bethel Christian can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest. They blew past The Grove School 68-37 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-15.
Bethel Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Coba, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Spencer, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Crossroads Christian earned a 51-43 win over The Grove School two weeks ago. The win was just what Crossroads Christian needed coming off of a 84-29 loss in their prior contest.
Jacob Faldas was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Crossroads Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Rayson, who scored nine points.
Bethel Christian's record is now 12-4. Crossroads Christian's record now sits at 2-9.
Thursday's match will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Coba and Faldas. Coba has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 19.8 points, 3.7 steals, and 4.7 assists. For his part, Faldas has averaged 21.8 points, 2.4 steals, and 2.8 rebounds.
Everything came up roses for Bethel Christian against Crossroads Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 78-43 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Crossroads Christian's Dean MacRitchie, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
