Basketball Recap: Krysteon Shelton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fluvanna County over Liberty Christian

Fluvanna County lost against Liberty Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos came up short against the Liberty Christian Bulldogs, falling 58-38. While losing is never fun, the Flying Flucos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 45th).

Fluvanna County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Krysteon Shelton, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacy McCloud, who had four points along with five boards and four blocks.

Fluvanna County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Liberty Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Fluvanna County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Waynesboro at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Liberty Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-28 win against Rustburg on the 8th.
