Basketball Recap: Northern Cambria Skates Past Purchase Line with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Northern Cambria over Purchase Line in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Northern Cambria Colts blew the Purchase Line Red Dragons out of the water with a 61-25 final score. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 33 points or more this season.

Purchase Line's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Layden, who posted eight points.

Northern Cambria has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Purchase Line, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Northern Cambria will square off against United at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. United knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Northern Cambria likes a good challenge. As for Purchase Line, they will take on River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Purchase Line is facing River Valley at the right time seeing as River Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
