Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Glaspie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carver over College Prep & Leadership Academy

Carver lost against College Prep & Leadership Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Carver Yellowjackets took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Royals are ranked 127th).

Carver's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Glaspie, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Glaspie a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Tiquan March, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Prep & Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Mckenzie, who went 5 of 12 en route to 18 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Knotts III, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Carver's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Carver has already played their next game, an 84-51 win against Bethany Community on the 29th. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-55 loss against Bishop McGuinness on the 31st.
