Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri County Area). They snuck past the Chippewa Hills Warriors with a 52-47 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.
Despite the defeat, Chippewa Hills saw an underclassman step up: freshman Francesca Fall dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Fall is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kiara White, who posted six points in addition to 13 boards and seven steals.
Tri County Area's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Chippewa Hills, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri County Area will venture away from home to square off against Morley Stanwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
