Softball Recap: Luling Takes a Loss

After flying high against Schulenburg last Saturday, Luling came back down to earth. The Luling Eagles took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Natalia Mustangs on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Serenity Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one triple while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zoey Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Luling has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. Natalia's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1.

Looking ahead, Luling will challenge St. Paul at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Natalia has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
