Football Recap: Sierra Canyon Piles Up the Points Against Serra + How To Watch

Sierra Canyon barely beat Serra the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trailblazers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cavaliers 30-0. Those 30 points were actually the fewest the Trailblazers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

A big part of Sierra Canyon's victory came down to the chemistry between Laird Finkel and his top target De'Markus Barnes. Finkel rushed for 55 yards while Barnes gained 84 total yards and a touchdown.

Sierra Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Havon Finney Jr. and Myles Baker. Finney Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sierra Canyon, racking up 12 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Carter Sobel: he added nine points with three field goals and another three kicking extra points.

Sierra Canyon's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.5 points this season. As for Serra, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
