Riverdale lost to Kewanee back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Rams simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Boilermakers 54-7. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rams had established a 39-point advantage.

Gaege Heinsen went supernova, rushing for 278 yards and four scores while picking up 13.2 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Caen Beckett, who gained 129 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Riverdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 377 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kewanee only rushed for 103 rushing yards.

Despite the defeat, Kewanee saw an underclassman step up: freshman Adriann Bermudez rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Riverdale's record now sits at 2-0. As for Kewanee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Riverdale and Kewanee will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams will take on rival Rockridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kewanee is set to face off against their familiar foe Monmouth-Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
