Softball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bombers vs. Penn Yan Academy Mustangs

The Bloomfield Bombers will challenge the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bloomfield has eight straight victories, Penn Yan Academy has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Bloomfield's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Palmyra-Macedon as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Bombers have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Marlee Poole was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Leitten, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Penn Yan Academy came up short against Midlakes on Monday, falling 17-3.

Bloomfield pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Penn Yan Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

Everything went Bloomfield's way against Penn Yan Academy when the teams last played back in April, as Bloomfield made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
