Softball Recap: Steele Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Steele entered their tilt with Twinsburg on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Tigers.

Karina Shuster was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Leah Sprague was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Briana Blankenship was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Steele's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Twinsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Coming up, Steele will face off against Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Twinsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
