Recap: McMichael Phoenix vs. Morehead Panthers

The McMichael Phoenix pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-67 bruising from Morehead. McMichael has struggled against Morehead recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

McMichael lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Belcher, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Dalton, who scored 15 points.

Morehead got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Chandler out in front who scored 22 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chandler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makel Smith, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

McMichael dropped their record down to 5-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Morehead, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

McMichael will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Walkertown at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Walkertown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully McMichael likes a good challenge. As for Morehead, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against T.W. Andrews at 7:30 p.m. Morehead is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season.
