Riverwood hadn't beaten Roswell on the road since August 14, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Raiders came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 2-0. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2019.

Riverwood not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Roswell between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Kendall Saunders paced Riverwood's offense, picking up nine kills. Saunders got some help from Syler Lewis and her 17 assists. Lewis also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Estella Nguyen, each putting up two.

Riverwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season. As for Roswell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-20.

Looking ahead, Riverwood will venture away from home to challenge River Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roswell, they will host Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
