Football Game Preview: Chino Cowboys vs. South Hills Huskies + How To Watch

The Chino Cowboys will square off against the South Hills Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chino is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Los Altos just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to the Conquerors on the road by a 28-14 margin.

The losing side was boosted by Nathan Bull, who rushed for 69 yards and two TDs. He is becoming a predictor of Chino's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The Cowboys also got help from Christian Rodriguez, who showed off his sure hands for 93 receiving yards.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Nathan Flores for the heroic effort on defense: he. Chino hasn't allowed more than 3.5 yards per carry in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, South Hills got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They blew past Walnut 41-21. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

South Hills' win came from a few key players Chino will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyler Arguinzoni, who rushed for 121 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Fabian Marez was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries.

South Hills picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Chino, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Chino has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 197.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
