Baseball Recap: Lone Peak Comes Up Short

Lone Peak fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Jordan on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Beetdiggers by a score of 5-4. The Knights' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Korver Curtis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Lone Peak saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Johnsen, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Lone Peak's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Jordan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

While Lone Peak had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
