Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Christian Eagles vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The Santa Fe Christian Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Santa Fe Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

On Saturday, Santa Fe Christian made easy work of Christian and carried off a 77-55 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Fe Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dax Hall, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and ten assists. The game was Hall's 12th in a row with at least 17 points. Chase Othick was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 23 points and six rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Santa Fe Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel lost to Helix on the road by a 51-35 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Sundevils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Santa Fe Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Mt. Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Santa Fe Christian against Mt. Carmel in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured an 80-46 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Sundevils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
