Basketball Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Green Mountain Rams
It was a good run, but the Evergreen Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 41-29 to Green Mountain. Evergreen has not had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Green Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clara Coil led the charge by scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Schafer, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Green Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen will challenge the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conifer is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Green Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Skyview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday.
