Basketball Game Preview: Sunapee Lakers vs. Nute Rams

Sunapee is 9-1 against Nute since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Sunapee Lakers will venture away from home to challenge the Nute Rams at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Sunapee came up short against Epping and fell 66-55. The loss continues a trend for the Lakers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nute, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Wilton-Lyndeborough 77-45 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Sunapee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Nute, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.

Everything came up roses for Sunapee against Nute in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, as the team secured a 77-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunapee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
