Volleyball Recap: Aryana Andrus and Liana Lyon Secure Win for Troy

Troy won the last time they faced Towanda and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Black Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Black Knights since September 9, 2023.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Troy who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-9.

Leading Troy to victory were Liana Lyon and Aryana Andrus. Lyon had four digs and four aces, while Andrus had 18 kills and three blocks. Andrus is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Troy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Towanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
