Football Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

Westside extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 33-8 to the Menendez Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 35-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Menendez, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Dominick Torchio had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs. Tony Evans got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside will face off against Orange Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Menendez, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Kenny at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
