Baseball Recap: Marianna Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Marianna took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Freeport. Marianna has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marianna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Byrd, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Bryce Mitchell, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Marianna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Freeport, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Marianna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 win against Cottondale on the 26th. As for Freeport, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against North Bay Haven Academy on the 25th.
