Baseball Recap: West Ashley Find Success

After only two runs in their last contest, West Ashley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Stall on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Holton Shoptow looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Josh Painter was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolin Rundel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

West Ashley's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Stall, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Ashley will take on Ardrey Kell in a tournament on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Stall, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Dorchester at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st.
