Softball Recap: The Meadows School Wins Going Away Against Canyon Springs

The Meadows School's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Canyon Springs Pioneers. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Dylan Howard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Howard was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

In other batting news, Tessa Rosenstein was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leighton Bekhor, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The Meadows School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 9-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The Meadows School pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Meadows School will welcome Sunrise Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Miners at the right time seeing as the Miners are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Canyon Springs, they will host Boulder City at 3:30 p.m. on the 25th.
