Brandon Vicens and Frantz Petitpapa provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Pembroke Pines Charter. The connection went for 63 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 15 this season.
Archbishop McCarthy extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Jaguars, 34-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Archbishop McCarthy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Vicens threw for 166 and one touchdown and Petitpapa had 106 yards receiving. On the ground Petitpapa chipped in 60 yards. Paul Boy helped Archbishop McCarthy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
Archbishop McCarthy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mavericks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Vicens has thrown for 472 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Petitpapa has 22 catches for 328 yards. Vicens also leads the league in rushing with 562 yards.
Fort Lauderdale made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,406 from 6,695. The improvement was the result of 21-7 victory over the Flying L's last week.
