Basketball Recap: Sunday's Victory Is Brush's Third in Last Four Outings

Brush lost to Cleveland Heights back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Sunday. The Brush Arcs came out on top against the Cleveland Heights Tigers by a score of 64-51.

Defeat or not, Cleveland Heights got some senior leadership from Jayquan Stubbs and Carter Armstrong. Stubbs dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards, while Armstrong went 6 of 12 on his way to 11 points. Stubbs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played.

Brush has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Cleveland Heights, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.

Brush will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cleveland Heights, they will host Strongsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Strongsville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Cleveland Heights likes a good challenge.
