Volleyball Recap: Liberty-Benton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Evelyn Ricker and Maddy Amstutz

If Liberty-Benton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Riverdale on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Calvert Senecas on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Senecas recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10, 25-20.

Maddy Amstutz and Evelyn Ricker certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Amstutz had 15 digs and one assist, while Ricker had 18 assists and four digs. Amstutz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Liberty-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Calvert, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-0.

Looking ahead, Liberty-Benton is taking a road trip to take on Pandora-Gilboa at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvert, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lakota at 7:00 p.m.
