Softball Recap: Zuni Thunderbirds vs. St. Michael's Horsemen
Zuni was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 19-6 walloping at the hands of the St. Michael's Horsemen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Zuni of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2015.
Gabrielle James made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI.
On St. Michael's side, the team relied heavily on Jaslene Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Gallegos, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Zuni's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for St. Michael's, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.
