Basketball Game Preview: Illini West Chargers vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans

Having just played yesterday, the Illini West Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Monmouth-Roseville Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Illini West will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Illini West made easy work of Bushnell-Prairie City and carried off a 47-26 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-8.

Meanwhile, Monmouth-Roseville didn't have quite enough to beat Sherrard on Friday and fell 51-48. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Tigers are ranked 83rd).

Monmouth-Roseville has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Illini West, their win bumped their record up to 20-8.

Illini West didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Monmouth-Roseville when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory.
