Volleyball Recap: Bishop Watterson Takes a Loss

Bishop Watterson came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Chillicothe Cavaliers, falling 3-0. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Bishop Watterson took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-23.

George Smith paced Bishop Watterson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Smith got some help from Ben Gabrich and his two assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

With the defeat, Bishop Watterson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-8. As for Chillicothe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Bishop Watterson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chillicothe, they will take on Middletown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
