Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Big Walnut

Big Walnut won against Westerville North on Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles beat the Dublin Scioto Irish by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-2. The win was nothing new for the Golden Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sarah Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Reed, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since April 3rd.

Big Walnut's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin Scioto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.
