Softball Recap: Keller Takes a Loss

After flying high against Timber Creek last Friday, Keller came back down to earth. The Keller Indians fell just short of the V.R. Eaton Eagles by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Madison Eads and Kaiya Fabela did some serious damage despite the final result: Eads went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Fabela went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Eads a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Kavanaugh, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Keller's loss dropped their record down to 13-6-1. As for V.R. Eaton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Keller and V.R. Eaton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Keller will square off against Northwest at 1:00 p.m. on Friday up 475 places (35 vs. 510). Keller is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton (ranked 159th) will meet Keller Central (ranked 394th) at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
