Basketball Recap: Bordentown Comes Up Short

Bordentown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 47-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Cross Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Scotties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Lancers are ranked 118th).

Despite the loss, Bordentown still got an impressive performance from Rahmel Caffee, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Caffee a new career-high.

It was another big night for Jordan Owens, who went 7 for 12 en route to 22 points for Holy Cross. Another player making a difference was Bradon Yansick, who earned four points and four steals.

Bordentown's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Bordentown will face off against Northern Burlington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-38 defeat against Thrive Charter on the 13th.
