Basketball Recap: Minneapolis Comes Up Short

Minneapolis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 64-38 to the Southeast of Saline Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-31 back in January.

It was another big night for Gannon Jacobson, who went 9-for-16 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals for Southeast of Saline. The game was Jacobson's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Tiernan Ptacek was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Minneapolis' loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Southeast of Saline, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minneapolis will face off against Smith Center at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southeast of Saline, they will square off against Ellsworth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast of Saline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
