Baseball Recap: Luther Comes Up Short

Luther lost a heartbreaker to Meeker when they met back in April of 2025, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Lions lost 10-2 to the Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Luther saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Bailey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Bailey has snagged this season.

Luther's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Meeker, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Luther will head out on the road to take on Tonkawa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Meeker, they will take on Kellyville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
