Baseball Recap: South Dade Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mater Lakes Academy, South Dade was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Goleman Gators.

The result came thanks to Zac Tyre's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Dade is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Damian Gorri, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Fabian Orama also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

South Dade's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Goleman, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Looking ahead, South Dade will take on Downtown Doral at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Goleman, they will face off against Mater Lakes Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
